General Practice Gold Coast Limited (GPGC) is a Membership based organisation established, as a Division of General Practice, in 1994. GPGC’s membership comprises General Practitioners (GP), Practice Managers and Practice Nurses.

The objective of GPGC is to facilitate the advancement of General Practice, as a whole, by providing:

• Education and professional development opportunities for its members; and
• A forum for General Practitioners to meet and discuss local problems and provide support to each other as colleagues.
• Providing a communication tool between local GPs to allow quick dissemination of up-to-date relevant information.

A Board of Directors, composed of individuals with diverse skills and experience and including at least three (3) General Practitioners, meets monthly to govern the organisation. The Board works collaboratively and in an advisory role, with the Gold Coast Primary Health Network and Gold Coast Health to ensure that GPs and General Practice continue to be at the center of patient care innovation and improvement into the future.

This searchable GP directory was developed by GPs and designed to make it easy for patients to find the right GP for their needs. It also allows GPs to make ‘Horizontal Referrals’ and refer patients to colleagues for specific procedures and skills, whilst still being the patient’s primary GP.
