Dr Warby was born in QLD, growing up in the Whitsundays. She began her studies at the University of QLD with a first-class Honours degree in Science majoring in Microbiology and subsequently completed her medical degree (MBBS) at Melbourne University. She simultaneously obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Virology through University of QLD by working remotely at the Burnet Institute of Melbourne on HIV cell signalling whilst attending medical school at Melbourne University. Her PhD was finished in the same year as graduating from medical school.
Dr Warby has worked throughout QLD and in Ireland for 14 years, enjoying the broad variety of emergency medicine before obtaining her general practice qualification (FRACGP). She is the former Chair of GPGC after being a Director from November 2021. Dr Warby is now a Director for the Gold Coast PHN. She is also the Clinical Director of Myhealth Foxwell Road, Coomera.
Past achievements include leading a worldwide project on Planetary Health for Primary care doctors together with WONCA and the Planetary Health Alliance of Harvard University, whom she approached about her idea, and being a speaker at the Harvard Medical School Career Advancement and Leadership Skills for Women in Healthcare conference 2018.
Special interest areas include: preventative medicine, sports medicine, iron infusions, weight loss management, mental health, and family support for managing behavioural (such as ADHD) and neurodevelopmental disorders such Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr Warby’s vision revolves around supporting the optimal health and wellbeing of patients and the families she serves.
Dr Warby additionally holds a Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Surgery and a Masters in Health Leadership and Management. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
