Dr Jamie-Lea Whyte
Specialist General Practitioner
Dr Jamie-Lea Whyte trained in the Speciality of General Practice and enjoyed almost 7 years of family medicine covering all aspects of health care in a well established local practice. She completed her Medical Degree locally also at Griffith University in 2010.
After having 3 children and enjoying the challenge of General Practice, she found herself indulging in a new medical niche treating leg veins; namely spider and varicose veins.
Dr Jamie now works alongside the well-renowned and loved Dr Paul Davis at The Varicose Vein Clinic. This clinic has been in operation for over 15 years and is the Centre of Excellence for treating leg veins of all variations and severity on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane. All techniques are minimally invasive and allow patients to walk out afterwards and do not require hospital admission or general anaesthetics.
Dr Jamie relishes the opportunity to help people regain confidence about their legs. She is also very passionate to educate patients (and also local GPs) about vein disease and its management for the best quality of life ahead.
She is also interested to treat vulval varicosities and bring awareness to the landscape of pelvic venous disorders contributing to such (an emerging area of medicine).
Dr Jamie and Dr Paul love getting the best long term (non-invasive) treatment outcome through the techniques that only a medical approach can bring to the situation.
When she’s not at the clinic, Jamie will be attempting to juggle the joys of family and household while trying to train as a ‘quasi-triathlete’ for the odd team event in a tropical destination.
