Dr Danika was initially an intensive care nurse and went on to graduate from Melbourne University Medical School in 2004. She worked during her junior doctor years in the old Gold Coast Hospital and then started work as a GP in the community, receiving her Fellowship in General Practice in 2010. She quickly realised that she had a passion for diagnosing and treating skin cancer and thus studied and achieved her Master of Medicine (Skin Cancer) in 2012. Dr Danika has been a dedicated skin cancer GP since 2011 and has been an ‘Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor’ (Skin Cancer College Australasia) since 2012. Over the years, Dr Danika has continued to attend multiple skin cancer medicine and surgery workshops and courses as well as attending and presenting at relevant medical conferences. As an aside, during the Covid-19 outbreak, Dr Danika also worked as a Forensic Medical Officer and recently completed a Graduate Diploma of Forensic Medicine.
