Dr Andrew Weissenberger studied at the University of Qld and trained at the Mater hospitals in Brisbane before commencing general practice training.
He has been involved in general practice on the Gold Coast since 1990 and is practice principal and owner of Hope Island Medical Centre and Homeworld Helensvale Medical Centre.
Areas of interest include chronic disease management and aged care.
Dr Weissenberger is also actively involved in training and education and is a Senior Lecturer – Griffith University School of Medicine and is a clinical tutor at Bond University, as well as a supervisor of GP registrars.
He has previously served on the board of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, and has a particular interest in safety and quality in healthcare.
