Hi everyone,
2024 continues to be a big year for GPGC.
First up, I’d like to extend a big welcome to our newest Board Director Dr Kristy Bayliss.
I had the opportunity and meeting and encouraging some of our newest GP registrars at their education meeting and welcome to the Gold Coast newest general practice registrars.
Our advocacy and promotional activities continue, with more planned throughout the year. We recently joined the PHN practice managers breakfast; it was fabulous to have the opportunity to meet up with those that keep our practices running effectively in the background.
We have been working with the GCUH GP liaison officers to continue to improve communication between primary care and the tertiary sector and continue to advocate for improvement in discharge planning and summaries.
On the education front, GPGC has several education events coming up over the next few months, so watch this space with events in respiratory, paediatrics, psychiatry and vascular disease planned for the coming months. Please watch our social pages for more information.
We continue to support members via our Facebook page and website. If you haven’t already done so, please sign up to gpgc.com.au and create a profile there.
In addition, our AGM is fast approaching on 6th June. This is a great opportunity to network with your fellow general practitioners over a light meal at the Blackboard, Varsity Lakes. We hope to see you all there.
As always, GPGC is looking for volunteers to be involved, especially with events. This is a chance to contribute to making a difference in general practice delivery on the Gold Coast. If you wish to discuss the opportunity please contact Chairman@gpgc.com.au.
We are looking forward to an exciting year!
Regards
Dr Nicole Langsford and the GPGC Board
