Dr. Laura Baxter grew up in the UK where she undertook a BSc (Biomedical Sciences) and Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Southampton. She completed her intern and JHO years in the UK before moving to the Gold Coast. She completed 4 years of Emergency Medicine training before switching to GP training. She has passed her RACGP exams and is completing the final part of her training time in Northern NSW. She has a passion for Preventative and Holistic care as well as Women’s Health, Antenatal Care and Paediatrics.

Laura is an Assistant Professor (Clinical Practice) at Bond University where she has been teaching medical students since 2014.
This is Laura’s third year on the GPGC board as a director and is currently the Secretary.
